Pantone Colors Of The Year: Ultimate Gray & Illuminating
As the unquestioned authority on color, Pantone selects a new “Color of the Year” every December. This year, Pantone surprised us with two harmonious hues: Ultimate Gray and Illuminating, a cheery butter yellow.
“The selection of two independent colors highlight how different elements come together to express a message of strength and hopefulness that is both enduring and uplifting,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute.
Why Ultimate Gray & Illuminating?
“Illuminating is a bright and cheerful yellow that sparkles with vivacity; it is a warm shade imbued with solar power,” shared the Pantone team. “Ultimate Gray is emblematic of solid, dependable elements that are everlasting and provide a firm foundation. The color quietly assures, encouraging feelings of composure, steadiness and resilience.”
