Wedding Must-Have: Welcome Bag
There’s no better way to greet your guests and kick off your festivities than with a fun welcome bag. From sweet personal touches to tasty snacks, a customized goodie bag sets the tone for your wedding weekend.

When it comes to assembling the perfect welcome bag, we turned to an expert—luxury wedding planner Heather Lowenthal. A Breakers’ Blue Book creative partner and owner of Posh Parties & Paper, Heather says welcome bags are one of her favorite parts of wedding planning.
“Whether it’s a welcome to Palm Beach bag, or a bag filled with the bride and groom’s favorite goodies, the welcome bag is a great place to make it personal,” Heather shares.

Heather’s tips for the ideal welcome bag:
- Weekend Itinerary – include all the pertinent information such as times, places, attire and transportation for each event, a link to the wedding website for additional references and, of course, the hashtag being used for the weekend
- Something to Drink – water, lemonade or specialty soda—it’s also fun to add a personal touch and do a “his and hers” drink and name one “Bride’s Favorite” and the other “Groom’s Favorite”
- Something Salty – pretzels, popcorn
- Something Sweet – candy, cookies—a custom-designed treat is always a fun surprise
- Something Healthy – granola bars, KIND Bars, trail mix, an orange
- Something Chocolate – I like to do a Lindt Sea Salt bar, Hershey’s Kisses or M&M’S
- Emergency Kit/Hangover Kit/Weekend Essential Kit – this usually includes Advil, Tylenol, Shout Wipes, Band-Aids, Pepto-Bismol/TUMS, Emergen-C and sunscreen
Other fun items to consider: custom map, custom cups, custom koozies, playing cards, baseball caps and a pashmina.
Design tip: I love to package the bags to match the wedding colors or a fun, vibrant Palm Beach theme!
