For Chicago natives Samantha and Leo, getting married at The Breakers was a dream come true—but a destination wedding in Palm Beach wasn’t always their plan. Thanks to the father of the bride, Sam’s childhood dream became a reality.

After overhearing his daughters daydreaming about a wedding at their favorite place to celebrate the Easter holidays, Sam’s father just knew her wedding to Leo had to be at The Breakers.

“I received a phone call from my father while I was at work,” Sam recalls. “My dad was in Palm Beach and said, ‘Hey Sam, I’m here at The Breakers with their wedding planner, can you be down here by next week?’ …I flew down a few days later with my mom and after driving up that palm tree-lined drive and being greeted by the large oceanfront view and chandeliers in the Venetian Ballroom, the only words I could say we’re ‘Yes, thank you, and when do we start planning?'”

“My favorite memory from our wedding day was when Leo and I made our entrance after cocktail hour into the reception,” Sam shared. “We had some special alone time as guests filed into their seats. Then, the doors opened to the Venetian Ballroom and we were greeted by 300 familiar, smiling faces and we couldn’t imagine that day without them.”

“Everyone told us how special that feeling would be,” Sam adds. “But to experience it was truly heartwarming. That moment was also the kickoff to the celebrations of the best night ever!”
