Destination Wedding To-Do: Dress To Kill
Glamorous weddings not only showcase world-class cuisine and the most stunning décor in a dazzling venue, they also have fabulous fashion. And if you liked Breakers’ bride and groom Vanessa and Taylor’s Real Wedding post and amazing wedding video, you’ll love this stylish couple’s wedding looks – especially such a style savvy groom!
On Vanessa: “Our rehearsal was a tropical theme outside on the gazebo lawn. I wanted my dress to be fun and comfortable. That is exactly what I got with this D&G Cherry Sheath Dress.”
On Taylor: “The only request Vanessa had was for us to match just a little. The jacket and pants are Ralph Lauren, glasses are Cartier.”
On Vanessa: “When I started my hunt for a wedding gown I was asked, ‘What are you looking for?’ my response was, ‘Timeless, elegant and nothing too trendy.’ I tried on about 15 gowns – all were beautiful, but not what I was looking for. Just as I was ready to give up, the consultant brought out an R.S. Couture gown. As soon as it came into the dressing room, I knew I had to have it.”
On Taylor: “I’m kind of neurotic when it comes to fashion and even more so when an important decision is involved. For the ceremony I donned my first of three outfits: I wore a custom-made black peak lapel classic tuxedo by Anthony Gilberto of NYC. I wanted to keep the prestigious old world Palm Beach charm so I went with a wingtip collar and black bow tie. Shoes were not a question: paten leather Salvatore Ferragamo loafers with a satin sash.”
On Vanessa: “I am a shoe girl, so shoes were very important to me. I wanted them to fit my fun personality. I chose this Givenchy pair (left), because the colors went great with the wedding decor and the flowers matched the flowers in the back of my dress. For the afterparty, I wore white Christian Louboutins.”
On Taylor: “After the vows were made, tears smeared and smiles embedded, I rejoined the party with my beautiful bride wearing a white dinner jacket by Ralph Lauren with a Shawl graue grain collar (left), white Italian wide spread collar shirt and a black bow-tie.”
On Vanessa: “Since my wedding dress was more classic, I wanted to have a real fun party dress for the afterhours. When I went to designer Rene Ruiz I told him I wanted short, sparkles and feathers – that’s exactly what I got! Best part about this dress is I can wear it again.”
On Taylor: “We snuck away to the bridal suite after cutting the cake to make our final change of the evening. My wife wore a gorgeously fun and sexy cocktail dress, so I figured I would switch to a more sophisticated look to end the evening. Having a great tailor like Anthony Giliberto it wasn’t hard to look good. The dancing shoes were English handmade Bowhill and Elliot skull and crossbones black velvet slip-ons from Victor Talbots in Greenvale NY.”
