Inspired by outdoor destination weddings, more couples are ditching the candles and opting for unity sand during their ceremonies.

A great sentiment to two becoming one, the bride and groom – and sometimes mom and dad, too – each pour a different color of sand into a glass, honoring that once mixed, these pieces of sand (and the newlyweds) can never be separated.
