With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, we know flowers are on your mind. When sending a romantic floral arrangement or designing your tablescape at home, why limit yourself to just red roses?

For advice on creating a truly unique design, we turn to the experts. For nearly twenty years, our in-house Design Studio has been known for creating truly stunning event designs. Each arrangement is made with loving care–and today, we’re sharing the love with Valentine’s Day tips from our Design Studio sales managers.

Creating a Special Evening at Home: Decor tips for decorating your table

“Set a regal tablescape replete with heirloom candlesticks and china, glittering crystal stemware and your finest flatware,” Aime Dunstan shares. “A table for two need not be any less spectacular than a table for 20.”

“Velvet is making a big splash in table fashions this season, and shades of wine, lipstick and eggplant pop when contrasted with bright white florals such as peonies or tulips,” Aime adds. “Indoors, a collection of floating candles in 2′ and 3′ glass cylinders will help create a path to guide your guest of honor to your tabletop masterpiece. Outdoors, try pillar candles in chrome lanterns.”

“To create ambiance, lighting is your friend! Buy a dozen roses in a deep jewel tone, remove all the greenery and place them in bud vases along your table, filling the empty spaces with candles,” Claire Ryan shares. “Don’t be afraid to mix and match metals and candle sizes and types. Pillars, tapers and votives all work really well together. Then, turn the lights down, the music up and enjoy a special night.”

However you decide to decorate, remember to leave yourself plenty of time to plan and prepare so you have the opportunity to enjoy the evening. As Aime shares, “you deserve it!”

Sending Flowers: What to include in a unique bouquet for a loved one…

“I love gifting fresh flowers any day of the year, but on Valentine’s Day I think the most important part is for your loved one to feel the sincerity,” Jennifer Herrera shares. “If hand delivering them is not an option, ask the florist to supply a hand written card instead of a printed card.”

“Your words in a hand written note will feel more genuine, more likely to leave that lasting impression you are hoping for. Personalize it even further if you can with flower choices—a favorite color or flower that will bring a smile to their face.”
