The honored tradition of “something blue” has always been quite special to us at The Breakers. With bright blue skies and 140 acres of beautiful blue oceanfront property, we have a lot of blue to offer.

This new something blue trend really struck us as fun….

Something Blue Nails

Not sure which shade of blue suits you? Don’t fret. Make an appointment at The Spa at The Breakers to enjoy a SpaRitual Natural Manicure and they will help you find something blue for your nails.

Would you rock a blue mani on your wedding day?

Every Friday we normally feature a stunning Real Wedding on the blog – today, we’re sharing a truly incredible celebration.

Real Celebration: Anniversary Fabulousness at The Breakers

Last night, a dynamic couple celebrated 18 years of marriage with 230 of their closet friends and family. New York designer extraordinaire Ed Libby dreamed up the décor concept and The Design Studio at The Breakers made it a reality.

Enjoy a sneak peek as we walk you through the sensational evening…

Guests were serenaded by three violin players as they picked up their placecards, greeted by an Egyptian princess and escorted into the Venetian Ballroom though an incredible draped hallway – complete with chandeliers and fresh floral arrangements.

As guests entered the reception, they listened to the sweet sounds of an electronic harp as stilt walkers dressed as white peacocks cut a piece of ribbon to hand them a glass of champagne.

When it was time for dinner, dancers welcomed guests into the Mediterranean Ballroom as fog covered the dance floor. Elan Artist’s Raggs & the Allstars orchestra kicked off the festivities.

The décor, inspired by William Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, featured two incredible 10-foot-tall centerpieces. The first, a billowing weeping willow tree with an abundance of phalaenopsis orchids and the second, jeweled organza butterflies and blooming branches in apothecary jars.

Interchanging linens, peacock-inspired charger plates, feathered chair covers and a custom turquoise dance floor illuminated with dancing butterflies completed the breathtaking decor.
