Zanadu Group began in 1985 as an entertainment company, providing interactive performances and specialty acts for all types of events – from halftime shows to galas. Today, Zanadu is a team of extraordinary event planners, defined by the memorable moments, dynamic performances and the seamless productions they create.
“While broadening our focus, we are proud of the fact that our passion for the innovative has elevated us to not only be the best in the field of event production, but has also driven us to consistently transform our bride’s unique personal style and vision into an unforgettable experience,” says founder Cheryl Beitler. “And then take it one step further!”
“The key ingredient to the Zanadu philosophy is our belief that each event and every client is a labor of love, personalized through high energy, uncompromising dedication to service, and a customized brand of perfection,” says Dale Flam (right), who Cheryl calls the ‘Dream Weaver’ on the scene.
Q: What is it like planning an event at The Breakers?
A: When an event takes place at The Breakers, it’s already starting out with the most magnificent destination venue – one that defines perfection on so many levels. We feel especially fortunate when we’re coordinating a celebration here because we know that, not only will it provide a fabulous setting, we also know that we will have the support of the Catering Department and the entire staff behind the scenes. Everyone involved has one goal in mind: to create a beautiful and flawless event that will produce the memories of a lifetime.

Q: Where does your inspiration come from?
A: Inspiration can come in so many forms and be translated in just as many ways. Quite simply, we tell our brides to follow their hearts – whether it’s whimsical, romantic, or of an era in which they imagine themselves. Inspiration can also be defined as passion for many; something that stirs them emotionally, such as color, textures, or even the love they’ve found within their families.
Q: How does The Breakers history and architecture inspire you and your events at the hotel?
A: We have heard it said often: Location, location, location! The venue you select will make a statement the moment your guests read it on your invitation. It speaks to how you define romance and the lifestyle that you envision for yourselves. It says casual, beach chic or baroque opulence. It speaks of your vision for the perfect once-in-a-lifetime event. And The Breakers says it all.
Q. Can you share some tips for selecting the perfect wedding elements?
• Invitations: There is a saying that you only get one chance to make a first impression. We believe your invitation is that first impression and can become the “common thread” found in every key element of your wedding – whether it’s an image of a palm tree, your monogram, or colors and visual details – and it should continue until the last guest leaves.
• Gown: Don’t be afraid to try on different styles. The one that you’ve always thought would be “perfect” may not be as flattering as you had hoped. You’ll know it the moment you look at yourself in the mirror.
• Entertainment: If people are the heart of an event, the entertainment is its soul. If you know the genre and “vibe” that you want to create for you and your guests, both heart and soul will be merged to create the perfect sensory experience.
Q: What’s the most important piece of advice you can offer a bride and groom?
A: That their wedding day is their day – that of the bride and groom – and they should not be afraid to express their opinions or vision when making their plans. We always tell our brides and their families that they should be comfortable with every vendor they choose because they and we are going to be sharing the most special day in their lives – a day that took a lifetime for their two families to create.
