Did you know July is National Ice Cream Month? We just love the idea of celebrating the heat with an ice-cold treat — especially in Florida. In fact, our team celebrates this holiday year-round with The Breakers’ Banana Split.

Banana Split

The Breakers’ Banana Split is a perfect sweet treat to serve as dessert for your wedding guests! Served with three scoops of Haagen Dazs ice cream, a selection of gooey macadamia nuts, fresh strawberries, caramelized pineapple and M&Ms, then topped with classic sundae favorites caramel syrup and hot fudge!

Another fun fact: Next Monday, July 25 is National Hot Fudge Sundae Day! Come visit us at The Breakers and share a yummy sundae!

After moving away, Florida natives Brooke and Justin knew they wanted to host their destination wedding back in their hometown. Choosing The Breakers in sunny Palm Beach was an even easier decision.

Brooke explains it best: “We choose The Breakers because it is iconic to Palm Beach … it is the epitome of class, elegance and has somewhat of a golden age Hollywood feel with a beach twist.”

Their favorite memory: “Every memory was my favorite and every experience was my favorite! But we most enjoyed the cocktail reception on the Ocean Lawn and then dancing the night away at the reception.”

Making and sticking to a wedding budget is no easy feat. In a recent survey conducted by The Knot, the magazine reported that the average wedding costs about $27,800. So, what do couples splurge on for the big day?

Splurge worthy?

We did some research of our own and polled our Facebook friends. Out of 100 responses, we found that nearly half of past, present and future brides and grooms splurge — or plan to splurge — on food and beverage. Seeing how food and beverage are key ingredients to a truly amazing and memorable evening, The Breakers’ team wholeheartedly agrees!

Also splurge worthy: Photography was a close second, followed by location. Other responses included a dresser/bridal fashion stylist, the gown, entertainment and flowers.
