In just one month – Friday, April 29 – Britain’s Prince William and Catherine Middleton will formally tie the knot at London’s historical Westminster Abbey. The reception, hosted by Queen Elizabeth II, will be held at the breathtaking (and even more historical) Buckingham Palace.

Here’s an inside look at the Royal Wedding plans…

Royal Wedding: William & Kate

After eight years of dating, The Prince of Wales proposed to the lovely Kate in October while on vacation in Kenya. William gave Kate the ring that belonged to his mother, Princess Diana.

The oval cluster ring has a sapphire center and is surrounded by 14 diamonds, all mounted in 18ct white gold.

The woman who designed this gown might be the one designing Kate’s coveted dress.

While there has been much speculation as to Kate’s dress and who its designer will be, the bride-to-be has said she wants to keep her wedding dress a secret to surprise Prince William on their wedding day.

The top contenders include the modern and edgy Alexander McQueen – whose creative director Sarah Burton designed the wedding gown for Sara Buys when she married Prince Williams’s step brother Tom Parker Bowles in 2005. (Sara’s dress pictured above)

Other British fashion designers possibilities: Bruce Oldfield for a timeless dress, Amanda Wakeley for something ethereal, Phillipa Lepley for a luxurious gown and Issa as an offbeat wedding dress choice.
